About your Natural Jewellery
Natural components such as shell & coral, have a unique texture. Unlike mass produced & synthetic products, they are not smooth & uniformly sized.
This means that some jewellery pieces may be asymmetrical, or have a slight unevenness, adding to their unique charm and individuality.
The gemstones themselves, almost always have inclusions, which are known as flaws in diamond assessment. This is seen not as a fault in coloured gemstones, but rather, as a unique feature, and in some instances, a means of identification of a particular stone.
Mottled colouring and striations give additional depth and beauty to many gemstones.
Look closely at Lapis Lazuli, for instance, and you will see a beautiful layering of vibrant blues with touches of golden flecks like stars in a midnight blue summer sky.
Just as plants and human skin are affected by the elements, so are natural jewellery components. Changes you may see are usually only slight and, like most treasured items, are endearing to the wearer. For example, wood naturally changes colour over time & with constant exposure to light; light-coloured horn will become deeper and more mellow in colour.
